Mental Health Crisis

There are a number of support options locally for people having a mental health crisis.

  • The St. George's Health Trust help line is available on 0800 028 8000 for 24/7 for mental health support
  • You can also call Chartfield Surgery on 020 8788 3252 during opening hours. 
  • You can use the 111 service when we are closed.
  • In an emergency, always dial 999

There are a number of local mental health services which you can access without needing to speak to a GP as detailed below:

St George's Mental Health Trust 

St. George's Trust provides mental health support for South West London, with a range of services available.

St. George's also hosts a Recovery College service which can provide training and support for those recovering from mental health problems.  

Talking Therapies - Talk Wandsworth Self Referral

Free confidential help for problems like stress, worry and low mood. Talking therapies for those aged 18 or over.

Thrive LDN Wellbeing Support

Thrive LDN is a charity providing resources to help Londoners with their mental wellbeing.

Teenage Mental And Sexual Health Support

Visit the Getting It On hub for sexual and mental health, drugs, alcohol and relationship advice for 13-19 year-olds in SW London.

NHS Psychological Therapies Service

For access to psychological therapies services such as CBT, you can refer yourself through the NHS Psychological Therapies service.

Kooth - Mental Wellbeing For Young People

Kooth is a mental health and wellbeing service for young people. Kooth provides an app, a message board, a magazine, and a team who are available to chat about mental health issues.

Recovery Cafes - Merton And Wandsworth

Recovery cafes are run from Hestia Cafe in Wandsworth and Sunshine Cafe in Merton. The cafes provide a supportive space for adults who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health. Recovery Cafes are open 6 to 11pm Monday to Friday and 12 noon to 11pm Saturday, Sunday and every bank holiday. Please phone ahead to check availability and holiday opening times.

Metro Charity LGBTQ Counselling

Metro Charity offers free counselling for LGBTQ youth. You can refer yourself by email or by phone.
